Prepare for Boarding

Before boarding, you need to ensure your rabbit has current vaccinations for VHD and Myxomatosis. These need to be done at least two weeks in advance.

Rabbits should be treated with an insect repellent such as Rearguard to prevent flystrike in the summer months. Long haired guinea pigs are also susceptible to flystrike.

It is also recommended that rabbits are wormed four times a year with Panacur Rabbit to protect against E. cuniculi and intestinal worms.

Please ask your vet for more information.

You will need to bring the following:

  • Enough of their usual dried food for the stay
  • Completed care sheet detailing your pets diet/feeding regime and any special requirements
  • Up to date vaccination certificates (rabbits)
  • Enough medication for their stay (this must be discussed before booking)
  • Small pets other than rabbits and guinea pigs will need their own cage with enough of their usual food and bedding for the stay

When transporting your pet, you should use a secure carrier.

You may also like to bring the following to help your pets settle in and feel at home:

  • Favourite toys
  • Bedding/beds/blankets
  • Bowls and bottles
  • Brushes and combs
