I use Gorgeous Guineas shampoos which are made using gentle ingredients that are kind to your guinea's skin. It is recommended that guineas are shampooed once a month to help prevent skin problems occurring.
The following shampoos are available:
Lemon Tea Tree and Lavender - a lovely fresh smelling shampoo
Lavender - a gentle shampoo that works particularly well for Rex / Texel guineas and makes Silver Agouti pigs "sparkle"
Posh ‘n’ Go – luxury silk protein shampoo for long haired guineas.
Just For Boars – A classical combination of Sandalwood and Cedarwood for the Boar that wants to be fragrant without the flounce, fresh but not flowery.
Mini-Pig Shampoo – designed especially for guineas under 12 weeks who need a gentle shampoo.
After shampooing any tangles are gently removed from your piggy's hair, before trimming. Long haired guinea pigs can be trimmed so their hair just touches the ground. They are then blow dried and kept warm until they are thoroughly dry, before being returned to their hutch. |
